The Marina,or Safe Boat Harbour, is a hot topic – so I thought I would put everybody in the picture as to the current state of the project.
Frankston Council is poised to release the RFT (Request for Tenders) document, which will contain the criteria, terms and conditions that any developer must comply with to build and operate the facility. Once the RFT is issued, developers can use that to build a proposal, which they will then submit to council for consideration. Council will then evaluate all the responses and select a “winner”. Council may also decide it doesn’t like any of them and not select anybody.
So right now, there is no proposal to build anything – until we get responses from developers, we don’t really know what it is that may be built. Then the real scrutiny will start – right now, it’s all just concepts.
